Last night vegetable curry - coconut milk based with homemade curry paste. First time trying to make my own paste and it was fun!

Seattle is about to have it's first sustainable fish only sushi restaurant. I've been avoiding sushi ever since I found out some of my favorites are some of the worse for the environment (*sniff* i love yellowtail *sniff*) -

Tue, August 11, 2009 - 3:59 PMI hit the Japanese Dollar Store in Daly City a few weeks ago and picked up what is basically a rolling machine for sushi. Bought a couple of them actually, one for nigiri and one for making big rolls.
Can't wait to try them out! -

Wed, August 12, 2009 - 4:57 PMTwo nights ago I set out to make Palak Paneer (spinach) but ended up using fresh green beans, zucchini, and tomatoes from my garden instead. My enameled cast iron pan put a killer seared crust on the paneer. Toasted some flatbread to go with.
