Scrumptious fish pie and roasted root vegetables. It was simple and cobbled up.

Wed, December 26, 2007 - 11:18 AMDuck duck duck breast a l'orange with cauliflowers.
I also made the Buche de Noel, a pull-apart-bread thing (first try; I think next year we'll go back to the traditional pecan rolls), and focaccia for my brother's family. -

Wed, December 26, 2007 - 1:24 PMDragon - Sounds delicious. I'm curious about the "Buche de Noel" recipe though because usually it's a Christmas dessert (a sponge cake roll decorated to look like a log). What did your bread Buche de Noel entail? -

Re: what did you make?
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 6:25 PMMy in-laws treated us to a prime rib feast on Christmas Eve. So, my daughter made pancakes for breakfast, then we had leftovers for lunch on and I used leftover ham, from my company party, cheddar cheese, eggs, potatoes, and a little Bisquick (just a few tablespoons) to make a casserole and roasted beets (soaked in olive oil, vinegar and spices). It was just a simple meal to end a simply wonderful day spent with my lovely wife, daughters and the older daughter's boyfriend (he's a good kid who's living with us, now... and already a part of the family).
I'm a very blessed man.
Love and light, dear ones.

Re: what did you make?
Fri, December 28, 2007 - 2:56 PMWe made a delicious beef tenderloin roast with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and fresh-off-the-stalk brussel sprouts in a rich fontina sauce. Simple, suprisingly fast, and totally delicious. I also made some creme brulee for dessert, although it wasn't my best effort...

Re: what did you make?
Mon, January 7, 2008 - 6:54 PMWhen my sister was in college, she made rabbit for Easter one year. My brother hasn't let up on her ever since about cooking the Easter bunny. This was about 33 years ago. She never should have told us, since she didn't live in this area at the time. -
