I can understand why a business owner might shop there, but seeing mom and pop types rolling out pallet sized loads of chicken nuggets for home use is kinda stomach turning...
Oh, and I'm inclined to agree with fifi on that- aren't there still independant importers out there? Sheesh.

Sun, March 16, 2008 - 2:42 PMOK - that beats anything I've ever had - but I did go to a dinner at Olivetto in Rockridge that featured aged balsamico. I think the one we had was ~$40 for 20 ml, which we shared between four of us. It was pretty amazing. All of the dishes that night were designed to compliment the balsamico, so you could buy your dram and dribble it over whatever you wanted. And at that price, I was not above licking out the bottle! One highlight that lingers in my mind was a frozen balsamic mousse for desert. I wasn't so sure about it, but decided to go with it for the novelty - in fact it was wonderful! Mmm, nothing like that where I live now, sadly.
